Around the Studio
Please be respectful of the other dancers and the studio property. Upon arriving at the studio, dancers can use cubbies to store dance bags and street shoes. Please be sure that ALL items are clearly labeled. No street shoes, chewing gum, food or drinks other than water on the Rosco floors.
Please remind your dancer to use the bathroom before entering the studio. We encourage all dancers to stay hydrated; younger dancers need spill-proof bottles. We are all friends at Rebel Heart, but socializing during class is very distracting for everyone, so we ask dancers to respect the class work ethic and socialize before or after class. Please leave cell phones and electronic devices off and in your dance bag. We encourage dancers in Beginner 2B and above to bring a notepad to write down choreography or record videos of their steps with an electronic device at the end of class. Parents of younger dancers are encouraged to videotape new choreography for home practice at the end of class as well.
Arriving for Class - Please plan to arrive PRIOR to the start of class. Warming up is very important to prevent injuries and increase flexibility. Dancers who arrive 10 minutes late or more will be asked to observe that class for their own safety.
Allergies - Dancers should refrain from wearing perfume, or strong fragrances due to sensitivity of others. Do not bring snacks that contain peanuts or tree nuts into the studio.
Dress Code
To maintain the professional attitude of RHID, students should respect the dress code: Official RHID apparel or plain black top, black athletic shorts (girls: black skirt with bloomers, black tights or leggings); black or white socks, hair secured, appropriate foot wear. Unacceptable items include colored clothing, long pants, ripped/cut clothes, low-cut or revealing tops, or undergarments showing; jewelry such as dangle earrings, rings, bracelets, watches, etc.
Attire is considered a personal reflection of individuals and the group. Proper attire is essential for safety of dancers, class discipline, and technique evaluation.
White on Right! - For dancers in Beginner 2A and below, we strongly encourage wearing a white sock on the right foot for class even if they know their right from their left. This is very helpful for the dancer especially when learning new choreography.
Lost and Found - Dancers should always check their dance bag before leaving the studio. Dancers who leave their dance shoes at the studio will be assigned cleaning tasks to earn their shoes back. There is a lost and found box at the studio, please note however that items left for more than one month will be donated or discarded.
Reporting Absences - Please contact RHID via email or phone to let us know if your dancer will be absent from class. Dancers are encouraged to make up missed classes by attending a lower level class. Refer to the current class schedule to find a class that is suitable for the dancer’s schedule.
